About

"Technology Transfer Hubs"

The project on the creation of technology transfer hubs in higher education institutions can contribute to the development of a vibrant innovation ecosystem, foster collaboration between academia and industry, and drive economic growth in the region.

01

Measure

TECH2LINK employs advanced methodologies to measure the effectiveness of technology transfer. We collect structured data through surveys and interviews, involving administrators, researchers, and industry players, to identify gaps and potentials in existing processes.

02

Analyse

Once data is collected, we conduct in-depth analysis of institutional capacities and challenges using specialized tools such as NVivo and Excel. Our analytical approach aims to accelerate the development of tailored solutions for technology transfer.

03

Improve

Based on our analyses, we design strategies and implement actionable solutions to improve technology transfer processes. These include entrepreneurship training, drafting intellectual property regulations, and establishing new partnerships between universities and industries.

Our Project

Work packages

For this project, we have 6 work packages belo

WP1

Project Management (M1 – M24)

WP1 focuses on managing and coordinating the entire project, ensuring tasks are completed on time and meet quality standards. It includes creating templates for reporting, presentations, and event evaluations, while maintaining smooth internal communication. Additionally, WP1 oversees monitoring, risk management, and timely reporting to ensure the project is executed according to schedule and quality requirements.

WP2

Needs Assessment and Stakeholder Engagement (M1 – M8)

This WP, led by IBC-M, aims to conduct a needs assessment and engage stakeholders to ensure successful technology transfer. By combining the needs assessment results with stakeholder input, organizations can create a targeted approach to technology transfer, addressing specific needs and expectations. The main objectives are to understand the requirements and challenges of technology transfer, involve relevant stakeholders for support and commitment, and align the findings with stakeholder input to set clear, achievable objectives.

WP3

Design and Development of Technology Transfer Hub (M9 – M12)

This WP focuses on designing and developing a Technology Transfer Hub to effectively facilitate the exchange of knowledge, skills, and technology. Its main objectives are to promote knowledge transfer, encourage stakeholder collaboration, create standardized processes for technology transfer (including licensing, IP management, and commercialization), and support startup and spin-off development through incubation services, mentorship, facilities, and funding connections.

WP4

Capacity Building Training and knowledge Transfer (M16 – M24)

This WP focuses on capacity building and knowledge transfer, aiming to create Technology Transfer Hubs connecting universities, businesses, and society across the Western Balkans. Its goals include increasing knowledge exchange and addressing the knowledge gap between enterprises and universities. Training sessions, hands-on experience, and workshops will equip individuals and organizations to build these relationships. Additionally, research papers, case study brochures, and guidelines on IP management and protection will be developed to share project results, success stories, and practical information for stakeholders in academia, industry, and government.

WP5

Quality Monitoring and Evaluation (M1 – M24)

The project will use a comprehensive quality management approach to ensure high-quality implementation. Key activities include developing a quality assurance plan, evaluating project processes and products, and reporting on quality outcomes. A Quality Board, with one representative from each partner, will oversee project quality. The Quality Plan will be approved by the board and communicated to all partners for compliance. Quality assurance will use both qualitative and quantitative indicators to assess progress and impact. Specific objectives include developing a Quality Plan, creating reporting forms, conducting external reviews, and preparing a 6-month quality report.

WP6

Dissemination and Sustainability (M1 – M24)

WP6, led by Luarasi University, focuses on promoting and disseminating information about the project’s activities to maximize its visibility in the Western Balkans and internationally, particularly in EU countries. The objectives include implementing a dissemination strategy, identifying long-term beneficiaries and target groups for exploitation, promoting project events and outputs to stakeholders, and sharing the results of the Tech2Link project.
